The best garments for DTF event printing

The best garments for DTF event printing — Merch Troop DTF event printing

DTF prints beautifully on a wide range of fabrics, but the blank you pick shapes both the feel of the finished piece and your budget. Here is how the common event garments stack up.

Bella+Canvas 3001 — the premium default

The 3001 is a soft, retail-fit ringspun cotton tee that most guests will actually wear again. DTF sits smoothly on its combed cotton surface, and the modern cut photographs well for your event recap. When the shirt itself is part of the brand impression, this is our go-to.

Gildan — volume and budget

When you are printing for a very large crowd and cost leads, a Gildan heavy cotton holds a DTF print cleanly at a lower unit price. The hand is a touch heavier than a 3001, but the print quality is the same.

Caps — Richardson 112 and Flexfit

A small DTF transfer or a pressed patch turns a Richardson 112 trucker or a Flexfit crown into a premium branded lid. Caps are a favorite takeaway because people keep them in rotation far longer than a tee.

Hoodies, totes, and staff apparel

Fleece hoodies take DTF well for cooler-weather events and higher-value gifts. Canvas totes are a low-cost, high-visibility giveaway that walks your brand around all day. And staff apparel keeps your team visually aligned with the crowd.

The fabric rule of thumb

DTF bonds best to cotton and cotton-rich blends; very slick performance synthetics can need adjusted pressing. Tell us the garment and we will confirm the right press settings — or recommend a blank that will hold up.
